An inspection robot patrols the house day and night, checking temperature, humidity, ammonia and bird behaviour without a worker entering. This cuts labour, lowers biosecurity risk and catches problems — dead birds, blocked drinkers, hot spots — earlier than manual rounds.
The data it collects also feeds the environmental controller, so ventilation and heating respond to real conditions instead of a fixed timer.
Commercial Pullet Brooding & Rearing Cage Specifications
Rearing pullets with uniform skeletal frame development and high body weight uniformity (CV < 8%) requires specialized 3-tier and 4-tier brooding-and-rearing battery cage systems.
Unit cages measure 1200mm (L) × 1200mm (W) with removable virgin plastic chick floor mats (12mm × 12mm aperture) during weeks 1 to 4 to protect tender foot pads. Partitions feature narrow vertical spacings with height-adjustable sliding door baffles to prevent chick escape.
Brooding temperature is maintained via indirect space heaters or under-cage hot water finned pipes (33°C–35°C at day 1, stepping down to 20°C–21°C by week 5). Feeding is automated via traveling hopper carts operating at approximately 6 m/min (~6 m/min).
